Where I Stand

As a parole officer and reserve sheriffs’ sergeant, Lily is a strong supporter of citizens right to keep and bear arms. She is an NRA member and will fight attempts to restrict Oregonians’ right to defend themselves, their families and their homes and enjoy hunting and shooting sports.

Lily is proud to be endorsed by Oregon Right to Life. Lily grew up in a household that was active in Oregon Right to Life and she believes strongly in the rights of the unborn and the sanctity of human life.

Lily believes Oregon’s right to use and enjoy their property is a fundamental right. When Government won’t allow you to lawfully use or develop your property, that is a “taking” and the government should pay you for that loss. You shouldn’t be forced to pay taxes on land you can’t use.

Lily supports putting fires out as quickly as they start. Lily supports better management of our forests so that they can provide more jobs, reduce fuels that create catastrophic fires and smoke, and and keep our communities safe. Our forest policy is too influenced by Portland liberals who don’t live in Southern Oregon. Lily will fight for our right to have a local control of using our lands and a bigger say in how our forests are managed.

Lily grew up in a small-business household and knows how hard they work to earn a living. She will oppose regulations that increase business’ costs. As Oregon recovers from the COVID-19 crisis, Lily will push for cutting red tape and regulations to get our economy going again.
